BinderGroup was founded in 2024 by Anders Michael Geil Pedersen and Joel Milos Sveinbjørnsson with the vision of creating a modern managing general agent built on a more agile, specialised, and collaborative approach to commercial insurance.
The company was founded on extensive experience in underwriting, risk management, and insurance distribution, where a need for faster decision-making, greater flexibility, and closer technical expertise was identified. At the same time, demand was increasing for specialised insurance solutions tailored to complex risks that often fell outside traditional insurance models.
From the outset, the ambition has been to build an organisation characterised by short decision-making processes, deep technical expertise, and an entrepreneurial approach to working with both brokers and businesses. Not as a traditional insurance company, but as a modern Managing General Agent (MGA), combining strong underwriting capabilities with access to international insurance capacity and specialised insurance solutions.
The name reflects the company’s role as a link between businesses, insurance brokers, and international insurance partners.
A key part of BinderGroup’s growth has been the development of strong relationships with international insurance markets, including capacity from Lloyd's of London. This has enabled the company to deliver flexible and specialised solutions for complex commercial insurance risks, while preserving the proximity, responsiveness, and agility valued by brokers and clients alike.
As the company has grown, the organisation has been strengthened with specialists across underwriting, compliance, risk management, and distribution. The focus has been on building a team with strong technical expertise and an in-depth understanding of the markets and business partners with which BinderGroup operates.
